Blister packs are a type of packaging used for small consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and food products. They consist of a pre-formed plastic cavity or pocket (blister) that holds the product, with a backing made from cardboard, aluminum foil, or other materials.
Blister packs offer a secure and tamper-evident solution, making them ideal for protecting products while ensuring they remain visible and easily accessible to consumers. Their design not only safeguards the contents from external contaminants and damage but also provides a convenient way to display the product’s features, enhancing its appeal on retail shelves.

Types of Blister Packs:
- Full Blister Card: Similar to face-seal, but the blister covers the entire front of the card, offering full visibility of the product.
- Face-Seal Blister Pack: The plastic blister is heat-sealed to a cardboard backing, leaving the product visible while protecting it. Commonly used for toys, batteries, and other small items.
- Trapped Blister: The blister is sandwiched between two cardboard pieces, which are glued together. It offers more security and a premium look, often used for higher-end products.
- Clamshell Blister Pack: A type of blister pack where two halves of a plastic shell are hinged together. The product is enclosed within, and the pack can be sealed or left to snap open and close. It’s popular for electronics, tools, and hardware.
- Slide Blister Pack: The blister is fixed to a sliding cardboard card. The consumer can slide the card out to access the product without damaging the packaging.
- Perforated Blister Pack: Often used for pharmaceutical products, where each unit (pill, for example) can be individually removed from the pack by breaking a perforated seal.
- Cold-Sealed Blister Pack: Uses pressure instead of heat to seal the plastic blister to the backing material. It’s often used for sensitive products that could be damaged by heat.
Merchandising Strips
Merchandising Strips are merchandising strips that allow multiple products to be displayed vertically in a small space, often hung on hooks or attached to shelving. They are commonly used to promote impulse buys by placing smaller, complementary items near related products. This versatile display tool maximizes retail space and increases product visibility without taking up valuable shelf space. Retailers often use merchandising strips to highlight promotional items or seasonal products, making it easy to cross-sell and boost sales. Additionally, merchandising strips are cost-effective and easy to implement, providing a quick solution for enhancing product placement in various retail spaces.
Types of Merchandising Strips
Standard Merchandising Strip: A basic vertical strip with clips that hold products in place. Used for lightweight items like snacks, small toys, or travel-size toiletries.
- Hook Strip: Similar to the standard merchandising strip but uses small hooks instead of clips to hold products with hanging holes, such as bags of chips or packs of batteries.
- Magnetic Merchandising Strip: Equipped with magnets at the back, allowing it to be attached to metal surfaces like store shelves, making it versatile for various placements.
- Adhesive Back Merchandising Strip: Has an adhesive backing so it can be attached to walls or other surfaces where hooks or magnets might not be practical.
- Custom-Shaped Merchandising Strip: Custom-designed strips that may include branding or themed shapes to match the product or promotion, enhancing the overall visual appeal.
